hmmmm so. the balance of the red. it's a bit overwhelming the main focus, but when i tried to put a little bit of red behind the figures [striped pillows n such] it got really cluttered and hard to read x.x suggestions?
ps-- the drawing isn't done either, there's still a few things to finish like the foot and arm, etc.

Ooh I think just taking the red out of the blanket and keeping the red in the other smaller key areas would help a lot. With the red on the blanket, it pushes it forward when it really is further back and underneath the characters. Maybe a super dull red or just grey for the checkers?
ReplyDeleteI have no suggestions, but I think it looks beautiful already/so far. D:
ReplyDeletepurdy!! omg <3
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the red with the contrast of the black and white, but maybe just keep it in the apples? I can see how all the red designs could get cluttered... hmm..
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kayla Cline. The apples and the cat work really well, but the blanket seems to divert attention from other aspects of the drawing.
ReplyDeleteIt's still brilliant (:

ReplyDeleteI think the only problem with the red is that it's bringing attention to everything but the main characters. Keep all the red, and add the same red on the cushion/pillows they're sitting on, instead of stripes just a flat red over the whole thing, pillows and all, and it'll balance out the focus. the red is so intense i think it's impossible to use it in smaller areas without forcing the focus even moreso on those small areas. plus, their silhouettes are so lovely the red would really bring them out!
